Boston Book Festival & Literature vs Traffic By Luzinterruptus
“We want literature to take over the streets and conquer public spaces, freely offering those passersby a traffic-free place which, for some hours, will succumb to the humble power of the written word.” Art collective Luzinterruptus.

Challenge: Boston Book Festival presents year-round events culminating in an annual festival that promotes a culture of reading and ideas and enhances the vibrancy of our city. Our goal was to support the festival's mission by scaling the outreach, attracting new partners and audiences while engaging resources beyond financial.
Solution: Produce a large-scale interactive art installation that promotes a culture of reading, and supports urban environmental movement. Engage BBF volunteers and partners such as book publishers.
Result: The selected work, installation Literature vs Traffic by Luzinterruptus art collective, pursued goals aligned with BFF's mission and philosophy. If performed, it would have resonated with BBF's audience, volunteers and partners. Cross-referencing effects would have reverberated across different media channels driving the attention  to the message of the large-scale artwork, the festival and its events. The effort is pending the city street closure permit. We hope to carry this project out in the future.

It highlights the role arts and culture play in elevating everyday life experiences. This participatory artwork will inspire emotions and leave a long-lasting memory of the encounter as participants to take it home piece by piece.
